West Gallery Exhibitions

Now Live: Uphill Both Ways: Educational Experiences in Rural New Mexico Pre-1950, curated by NMSU Anthropology M.A. student Mariah Ballard. Once intended for the West Gallery space before COVID-19, Uphill Both Ways will be an online exhibition focusing on the educational experiences of men and women attending school in rural parts of New Mexico during the 1930s-50s. The exhibition draws from the interviews conducted as part of the New Mexico Rural Heritage Oral History Project, archival materials, and objects from the University Museum's collections.
