West Gallery Exhibitions

Coming soon: Uphill Both Ways: Educational Experiences in Rural New Mexico Pre-1950, curated by NMSU Anthropology M.A. student Mariah Ballard. Once intended for the West Gallery space before COVID-19, Uphill Both Ways will be an online exhibition focusing on the educational experiences of men and women attending school in rural parts of New Mexico during the 1930s-50s. The exhibition draws from the interviews conducted as part of the New Mexico Rural Heritage Oral History Project, archival materials, and objects from the University Museum's collections. The exhibition will be live online beginning November 2, 2020.
