An Update on the University Museum:
Like many other museums, when we closed to the public in March we never could have anticipated how COVID-19 would affect our museum, the university, and the communities we serve. In response, many of our exhibition plans moved online or shifted to accommodate the circumstances. As museums in New Mexico and across the country begin to cautiously open to the public again, we have been carefully considering our options. We have decided that the University Museum’s exhibition spaces will remain closed to the public for now. We will be using this opportunity while the gallery spaces are closed to perform some necessary facility upgrades so we can better serve you in the future.
However, just because our exhibition spaces are closed doesn’t mean we are shut down completely! Staff and students at the museum continue to work closely with the collections, and we want to bring you in on the action. We invite you to connect with us over the coming months through online exhibitions, social media, virtual programs, and profiles of our teaching and research. We have exciting plans for the future, so stay tuned!
