This series of textiles makes its public debut from the private collection of J. Paul Taylor.
The exhibit is separated into seven geographic regions from across the world with information regarding each region’s textiles as well as personal narratives from J. Paul Taylor.
At 96 years old, Taylor is a lifelong resident of southern New Mexico and an important figure in the local and state community. Taylor worked for over three decades as a teacher, principal, and associate superintendent, and upon retirement served for 18 consecutive years on the New Mexico House of Representatives. Taylor is widely acknowledged for his continuing contributions to the advancement of education in the borderlands region, his community outreach, and for his role as a distinguished art patron.
